"Bessie came into our lives in 2008, when she was two years old. We found her through a friend’s random suggestion, and a quick visit to her fosterer’s place had us fall in love with a scrawny little golden dachshund with big soulful, puppy eyes. She was so scared of strangers that she peed on the spot the moment we came through the door, and shied away from any outstretched hand."
"Fast forward to today, our darling Bessie is always asking for cuddles. She loves it when people sayang her and will often use her nose to nudge her way into an embrace. She is also - as mum terms it - a little stalker, and delights in constantly following people around the house (much to our annoyance at times)."
"She also seems to have inherited dad’s voracious appetite - and will gobble down anything (that looks remotely edible to her) in sight. There was one time mum had forgotten to keep a bag of tomatoes after grocery shopping, and had left them on the floor. When she finally remembered, she found an empty plastic bag - without the five big, round tomatoes that she had bought earlier, along with a guilty tomato thief hiding away in a corner. You can say that Bessie is as cheeky and greedy as dogs come."
"Despite all these, Bessie remains our family’s little baby. Even at 15 years old now, she will forever and always be our little baby. It’s hard to put into words how much we love her and we are so blessed to have her in our lives."
